He entendido que la regla no escrita más importante sobre el atuendo de las invitadas a una boda es: nunca eclipsar a la novia. Solo he tenido experiencias limitadas con bodas mexicanas, pero puede ser que las mujeres mexicanas no hayan oído hablar de esa regla.

It has been my understanding that the most important unwritten rule about the attire of women guests at a wedding is: never upstage the bride. I have only limited experience with mexican weddings but it may be that mexican women have not heard about that rule.
